This February I went to Quebec City for their annual winter carnival. The daily temperatures ranged from 16 to -10 OF, so it was well below freezing the entire trip. According to stories I read online my usual cameras the Canon A1 and the Nikon Z6II wouldn't fair well in these temps because the extreme cold would mess with the battery contacts and the lubricants inside the camera in the case of my Canon A1. Instead I decided to opt for my fully mechanical Nikkormat FTn with a 50mm 1.4 non-ai lens and my Olympus LT Zoom 105 which I could keep warm in my pocket. Aside from the light meter on the Nikkormat FTn, the camera is able to shoot and advance without any battery power. Much to my delight both cameras performed very well in the cold. The only issue I had was condensation building up on the lens of my 50mm lens when I would walk inside after spending too much time outside.
