I made mince meat pies recently.
Filling Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 diced apples
- 1 1/2 cups diced cooked beef
- 1 1/2 cups of raisins
- 1 1/2 cups of white sugar
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 large orange cut into bits
- 1/2 cup of molasses
- 1/2 cup of brandy
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
- Mix ingredients in a bowl.
- Store filling in refrigerator for a week before use.

Recipe
- Preheat oven to 400 Fo for individual pies or 375 Fo for a whole pie.
- Roll out pie dough and line tins with dough.
- Add pre-made filling and cover with additional dough. Slits should be added for sealed pies.
- Brush top with egg wash.
- For individual pies bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. For a whole pie bake at 375 Fo for 5 minutes. Then reduce to 350 Fo for 30 minutes.
Notes
- Chop up the beef into smaller bits.
- The paper cupcake liners were difficult to remove from the pies.
